California’s CCPA as amended by the CPRA, and comparable laws in other US states, give you the right to stop your personal information being ‘sold’ or ‘shared’ for cross-context behavioural advertising. This page explains how that applies to pathwayreal.com and how to exercise the right.
Scope of This Right
- We should be clear about scope. Your personal information is not sold for money. Where advertising is served, though, identifiers may be shared with advertising partners, and because these laws define ‘sale’ and ‘sharing’ expansively, that sharing may fall within them. The opt-out is offered on that basis.
- You do not have to be a subscriber for this to apply — it covers anyone reading what we publish on pathwayreal.com.
The Effect of Opting Out
Once opted out, we stop sharing advertising identifiers with ad partners. Advertising itself may continue in generic form. There is no penalty of any kind: the site is not degraded, restricted, or priced differently for readers who opt out.
Ways to Opt Out
The quickest route needs no message from you at all: enable Global Privacy Control in your browser or as an extension. We detect and honour that signal automatically on every visit. Alternatively, set your preference in the cookie consent banner where one is shown, or email hello@pathwayreal.com with ‘Do Not Sell or Share’ as the subject line. No account is needed, and we do not require you to create one.
The State Privacy Notice sets out every right these statutes provide, not just this one.
